FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the rent level determined automatically?

No. You must consciously choose the appropriate rent level yourself.

Why is my rent capped?

Maximum amounts apply to housing benefit depending on the size of the household and rent level.

Is the result binding?

No. It is an estimate based on the published system and does not replace a decision.

Why can the housing benefit office calculate differently?

Because income, allowances, household characteristics and burdens are examined more closely there.

Can I enter more than five people?

Yes. The rent will then be surcharged for each additional person.
