Frequently asked questions

When does sick pay start?

Usually after six weeks of continued payment, i.e. from the 43rd day of illness.

Why is the sick pay below my net benefit?

Because 70 percent of the gross and 90 percent of the net are checked and additional social security contributions are deducted.

How long is sick pay paid for?

Because of the same illness, a maximum of 78 weeks within three years.

Is sick pay taxable?

It is tax-free, but affects your tax return via the progression reservation.

Why is my health insurance company's decision different?

One-off payments, special cases and daily data from the health insurance company can change the result.
